Some random thoughts on the game. Enjoyed Texas showing what they can do for four quarters in the defeat of a very good Arizona State Sun Devils team. I have liked Az St. since the days of Pat Tillman and the OSU Rose Bowl, so I knew this was going to be a tough one, b/c even if we won it was against a team I liked. I think what this game showed the most is that Mack had let up on the throttle this year. This was a good team and was capable of playing some solid football for four quarters, but we only got to see it once against OU this year. OU had a good team, and I was satisfied with UT after that game even though we didn't pull it out. Give credit where it is due, Mack had had enough and was tough on the guys this Xmas. All starting positions were yanked, and everyone was forced to try out for their position.

She set out as she had done every Sunday afternoon for years. She locked her door, turned to the weather, and held the hand rail as she stepped carefully down from the porch. Once on the ground she adjusted her hat on her gray head. As this was a winter day in the Christmas season, a cold day, she also adjusted her coat. Had it been raining, she would have pulled a large lawn and leaf bag, as if it were a poncho, over her head and upper body. Most times she shouldered her hand bag. This day she also shouldered a bulging plastic shopping bag. She walked along the dirt road that would lead her to the paved road that would lead her to the highway. Her only company was her shadow, small and indistinct at her feet. She walked without the deliberate care of someone unfamiliar with the terrain, but neither was her gait quick.
Space bugs become more dangerous
Scientists have shown how bacteria in space can gain virulence. When Salmonella typhimurium food bugs were flown in special flasks on the shuttle, they were found to alter the way they expressed 167 genes. The bacteria were almost three times as likely to kill infected mice compared with standard samples held on Earth. The study, presented in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, is said to have important implications for astronauts going to the Moon or Mars. S. typhimurium is one of the more difficult food bugs to treat with antibiotics, and long spaceflight missions would need to take care that good hygiene standards were maintained. "Wherever humans go, microbes go; you can't sterilise humans. Wherever we go, under the oceans or orbiting the Earth, the microbes go with us, and it's important that we understand...

Even better is the memo Mrs. Roberts sent that says' See if we can get Ambers wedding cake as a cereative segment- get that lady in Broken Arrow to make Ambers cake and have MYDC pay for it and we can use it as a Creative Segment.
Troubling Meaty 'Estrogen'
Women take note. Researchers find that a chemical that forms in overcooked meat, especially charred portions, is a potent mimic of estrogen, the primary female sex hormone. That's anything but appetizing, since studies have linked a higher lifetime cumulative exposure to estrogen in women with an elevated risk of breast cancer. .

Greet summer with hot reds, yellows
Lots of reds and yellows will add colour to the already bright summers." As for the cuts and frills, fashion designer Jattin Kochhar predicts that the lacy, sporty and uniform look will dominate. "Figure pants, pencil skirts, wide ruffled blouses, college blazers and V necks will be in this season," he says. Big volumes, be it in skirts or dresses, which were very big last season, will be out this time. "Well defined clothes are going to be trendy. Also, sailor stripes or nautical stripes, both horizontal and vertical are going to make a comeback," Kochhar adds. Other than skirts and dresses above the knee level, open toes and flats in footwear remain among the 'must haves' in the summer wardrobe. In accessories, big bags will remain in vogue. Another hot look this season will be lingerie worn as outwear.
