"Caitlyn’s memory will live on in the lives she saves and we are so grateful to her family for generosity of spirit that will touch so many people," Hall said. "Caitlyn had hoped to be a teacher someday, and with TLC, she will be teaching others far into the future." Hall said Caitlyn’s father and stepmother, Scott and Jamie MacKenzie, and mother and stepfather, Teresa and Bob Orasco, worked with agency to produce the campaign.

Double amputee Oscar Pistorius banned from Olympics
AN athlete with no legs has been banned from this year's Olympic Games because he has a "significant advantage" over able-bodied competitors. South African double amputee Oscar Pistorius, who runs with carbon fibre blades attached to his legs, will not be allowed to compete in Beijing. A report commissioned by the International Association of Athletics Federations says the prosthetics used by Pistorius gave him an advantage over other runners. Last year, the IAAF amended its rules to ban the use of any technical device incorporating springs, wheels "or any other element that provides the user with an advantage over another athlete not using such a device". The IAAF's ruling council agreed that Pistorius should not be allowed to run in Beijing or in any other meeting sanctioned by the world governing body.
SMO alleges threat by Majithia
Even as undertrial Bikramjit Singh of Bohar Wala (Ram Dass) village was shifted from a private AC room to the general ward following yesterdays vigilance raid, senior medical officer (SMO) S.K. Kapur today alleged that public relations minister Bikram Singh Majithia threatened him with consequences if the undertrial was not kept for a longer time in the hospital. However, while talking to The Tribune, Majithia denied that he had ever talked to the SMO for keeping the jail bird in the AC room of the hospital. I have never come across such a person and hence question of recommending him VIP treatment in the hospital does not arise. The minister said his name was being dragged into one or the other controversies without any reason. However, in a recorded statement, the SMO alleged that he had brought the matter to the notice of health minister Laxmi Kanta Chawla.
Militant groups slip from Pakistan's control
The first suicide bombing attack on a military target outside the tribal areas came days after an airstrike on a madrasa in the tribal area of Bajaur in October 2006 killed scores of people. Another turning point came last July when Pakistani forces stormed the Red Mosque in Islamabad, where militants had armed themselves in a compound less than a mile from ISI headquarters and demanded the imposition of Islamic law. Government officials said that more than 100 people died. The militants have insisted that thousands did. Several weeks later, militants carried out the first direct attacks on ISI employees. Suicide bombers twice attacked buses ferrying agency employees, killing 18 on Sept. 4 and 15 more on Nov. 24. According to Pakistani analysts, the attacks signaled that enraged militants had turned on their longtime patrons.
