| McCain and Romney spar over Michigan economy
It reminds me of my grandmother who would start crying at any excuse to make us kids FEEL GUILTY. It's a means of control and oh so convenient. But to be honest, I'm glad it's done and over with. She can't pull that card again - it's used and spent. Let her dare cry again the moment she gets into another pickle and it will become all too obvious that it's just a political trick - or better yet, the next time she PLANTS hecklers in the audience. Can we now please focus on the ISSUES! instead of all this sexism and racism that far too many people are using as their sole criteria for selecting a candidate - you're a bunch of hypocrites, the whole lot of you. .

Sidewalk spit leads to arrest in home-invasion rape
OLYMPIA, Wash. - Police used DNA evidence to make an arrest Monday in the rape of an 11-year-old girl - a crime in which a man previously arrested was cleared by DNA.Peter Jacob Inouye, 24, of Parkland, was arrested shortly before 7 p.m. as he returned to his parents' house a few blocks from the rape scene, Olympia police said in a news release.Cmdr. Tor Bjornstad said detectives collected Inouye's DNA recently after Inouye spit on the street, and the sample was analyzed by a lab.Bjornstad said an officer watched Inouye spit on the sidewalk, and then rushed to collect that saliva off the sidewalk."I'd say it's unusual and I'd also say it's pretty heads up police work," Bjornstad said. The DNA profile from the saliva matched DNA evidence collected from the victim.Detectives identified Inouye as a person of interest in the case after learning he had been at the victim's home in the last six or seven months, during an event to help her and her family after her father died.He was booked into the Thurston County Jail for investigation of first-degree rape of a child, second-degree assault and first-degree burglary.Last week, a DNA test cleared David Lukas Lynch, 23, of rape charges.
Isiah says quitting not an option
He has been the Knicks' president for four years, and Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan also made him the coach after firing Larry Brown in June 2006. Thomas said he hasn't considered talking with Dolan about whether it would be best for the Knicks if he wears just one hat. ''I've never given it that thought,'' he said. ''I only think about how to fix it, how to make it right. That's all my time and energy is focused on. Until I do that, I'll be here trying to make it right.'' The New York Post, citing an unidentified source, reported Saturday that Thomas told a friend he was considering stepping away from coaching to concentrate on his front-office duties. ''That was a flat-out lie,'' he said. ''I would never, ever, ever quit.
Call to reopen Falconio case over DNA
CIVIL libertarians have called for the reopening of the Falconio case after British police suspended the DNA testing technique used in the high-profile outback murder investigation. Australian Council of Civil Liberties president Terry O'Gorman said the evidence used to convict Broome mechanic Bradley Murdoch of the murder of British backpacker Peter Falconio must now be reviewed. British police suspended all use of the technique, known as low copy number DNA testing, on Friday in response to damning criticism of the method by the judge who acquitted the only man directly accused of the 1998 Omagh bombing in Northern Ireland that killed 29 people. The same DNA testing technique, in which DNA profiles can be obtained with only a few cells, was used in the Falconio case.
